hi, i'm emy, an artist based in melbourne, australia. my main focus is character design and storyboarding, and i'm currently in the final stretch of a bachelor's degree in 2D animation.
i love designing characters through exaggerated shapes and proportions. while i'm comfortable working across a range of styles, my personal work tends to lean towards a more playful, cartoony aesthetic.
learning more about 3D modelling and animation, while continuing to develop my illustration and storyboard work.

influence:
i fell in love with drawing and storytelling when i was very young, too young to even remember exactly when it started. I was introduced to Naruto when i was around six, which was when i first started consciously trying to learn how to draw.
because of that, a lot of my artistic influences come from the anime i grew up watching, as well as cartoons like adventure time and invader zim. i think that mix has definitely shaped my love of expressive characters, exaggerated proportions, and really weird fictional worlds. arcane has been a huge influence in recent years, which has inspired my style of rendering my 2D art, and is a partial motivator for learning 3D!
interests:
i'm also a huge movie fan (especially horror!)
some of my favourite movies are: pride and prejudice (2005), arrival, mad god, daisies (1966), fargo, silence of the lambs, donnie darko, howl's moving castle, and my number one favourite animated film: treasure planet.
in my spare time i love playing games. some of my favourites are Silent Hill 2, Half-Life, and ENA: Dream BBQ. i also love playing multiplayer games with my friends sometimes!
